Why we make UIX Icons

Most products need icons that general sets do not have, so we add them.

Why

One set for every field

A clinic app and a freight dashboard need icons a general set does not have.

Most icon sets cover the basic interface well. Then a product needs a ward, a pallet or a test tube, and the set runs out.

Teams then mix sets, draw their own or pick an icon that almost fits. Every field is drawn on the same grid with the same rules. So icons from different fields still match on one screen.

13,491 unique icons. Every one in 15 styles. That is 202,365 SVGs, and we add more every month.

Rules

What we hold to

Six rules decide what ships, in every style.

Ours

Every icon is original to this library. Nothing is traced, imported or copied.

Expected

The picture people already know, so it reads without a label.

Clean

Few lines, open shapes, even weight.

Reviewed

Checked at 16 px. Only icons marked good ship.

Easy to find

Every icon has synonyms and tags for people and AI agents.

Real numbers

The counts on this site come from the build. Nobody types them in.

Free and Pro

Free in three styles

Every icon is free in three styles under MIT, and Pro adds the other twelve.

Regular Rounded, Regular Sharp and Solid cover everyday interface work. Pro adds more weights, layered styles and effects, as a subscription.

UIX

Part of UIX

UIX Icons is its own project, and it will link to the UIX Design System at launch.

At launch the icons and the UIX Design System will work together.

The mark

Swash

Our mark follows the same rules as the icons.

Swash is one line that turns back on itself, with a gold dot above its end. It sits on a grid with round caps, like every icon.

FAQ

Questions

Who makes UIX Icons?

UIX Icons is a project from the UIX team. It is its own project, and it will link to the UIX Design System at launch. Every icon is original to this library. You can reach us through the contact page with questions, icon requests or licence questions.

Why are the free styles open source?

So anyone can use the icons in real work, with no account and no fee. The free styles cover everyday interface needs. We want the library to be easy to reach, for people and for AI agents. Pro adds more styles for teams that want them.

Is UIX Icons part of a design system?

It is its own project, linked to the UIX Design System at launch. You do not need the design system to use the icons. They work in any product, and the free styles are MIT. At launch, the icons and the design system will work together.

Does UIX Icons copy other icon sets?

No. Every icon is original to this library, drawn on our own grid. Nothing is traced, imported or copied from other icon sets. We study well-known sets to learn which picture people expect, then draw it our own way. A lookalike check runs before release.

What is the Swash mark?

Swash is the UIX Icons mark. It is one line that turns back on itself, with a gold dot above its end. It sits on a 24 px grid with round caps, so it follows the same rules as the icons in the library.
